The Magnepan 1.7x is a full-range planar magnetic loudspeaker designed for exceptional transparency, detail, and imaging. Its dipole radiation pattern produces an open, spacious presentation without the cabinet colorations associated with conventional box speakers. The slim panel measures approximately 19 inches wide by 64 inches tall and uses a thin-film planar magnetic driver.

The 1.7x applies Magnepan’s X-level component upgrades to the established 1.7 platform. These include tightly matched copper-rich polypropylene capacitors, high-gauge air-core copper inductors, upgraded solid-copper internal wiring, soldered circuit connections, and gold input hardware. The speakers are also bi-wireable for systems using separate connections to the low- and high-frequency sections.
